A Young Cat 107.9 FM presenter received a Blue Peter Music badge due to her own radio show.

Nine-year-old Eva, who presents the Children Takeover program every Saturday at noon, was elated when she received the badge specially designed by Ed Sheeran.

Crewe and Nantwich-based local radio station The Cat broadcasts 24 hours a day on 107.9 FM from Cheshire College South & West to Crewe, Nantwich, Sandbach, Cheshire and the surrounding villages and rural areas. It is the only licensed community radio station in the region.

Eva also recently received a Certificate of Merit and Bronze Award from the Mid Cheshire Hospital Charity for her fundraising for their Virtual Merry Miles event.

Eva said: “I was speechless when the Blue Peter badge arrived, as did the fundraising trophy and certificate. I love doing my radio show.

Chris Cadman, Managing Director of The Cat, added: “Kudos to our little fireball presenter Eva, one of the youngest regular radio presenters we know.”

You can listen to Eva present the Children Takeover program, sponsored by Crewe Town Under 10 Lions, on The Cat107.9 FM, every Saturday at noon on 107.9FM or through the station’s mobile app.
